As Israel is entering its 8th decade, we have not only the privilege to celebrate the amazing achievement of the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in the Land of Israel, but also the obligation to ensure the image of the State of Israel as envisioned by its founders, as a Jewish and democratic exemplary society.

We invite you to use the contents of this website to mark and celebrate Israeli independence in a meaningful manner. The content includes a proposal to read the Declaration of Independence with tropes, Suggestions for Shabbat Tkumah Services, a collection of texts and poems for Independence Day, study sessions for adults and youth, various articles and more.

The Israel Movement for Reform & Progressive Judaism (IMPJ) seek to integrate Jewish tradition with the realities of modern life, and believe in the right of each individual to shape their own Jewish way of life through a process of study and reflection. The Reform movement emphasizes the commandments concerning relations between humans, religious tolerance, and full equality between women and men in the synagogue and in all walks of life.
